Classifications
Les classements
With the exception of guest houses and youth hostels, all tourist accommodation (hotels, tourist apartment complexes, holiday villages, campsites, holiday lets, etc.) may have an official star ranking, which comprises 5 grades ranging from 1 to 5 stars.
Classifications
Classification is voluntary; listed accommodation is checked by accredited oversight bodies on the basis of criteria approved by decree. It is issued for 5 years, at the end of which period the establishment must renew its classification request.
